Terrence Higgins Trust Looks For New Members To Join 'Telling It Straight' - A Support Group For Heterosexual People Living With HIV In Sussex

THT is calling for people to join its support group "Telling it straight". The group is aimed at heterosexual men and women living with HIV in Sussex. The group meets every fourth Tuesday of each month in the evening. The next group session will take place on Tuesday 23rd at 6-8pm at THT"s centre in Brighton. Stigma and discrimination around HIV can make it difficult to know who you can talk to. "Telling it straight" is an informal and easy going support group for anyone who has been diagnosed as HIV positive. It"s a confidential space where people can provide each other with support and share experiences about how they are coping with HIV and life in general. It"s also a great place to find out about other support services on offer in Sussex. Sue Peters, Regional Manager for THT in Sussex said "This is a dedicated support group for heterosexual people living with HIV in Sussex. Up until now the only option would have been to go to a support group in London. But it"s really important that local support is available because when you"re living with HIV your life can seem much more complex than before you had the virus. Some people find it reassuring to talk to other people who are in a similar situation, or to meet people who have had HIV for several years and are living well.
